We as duly elected or appointed members of the Air Force Sergeants Association are united and jointly urging you the members of AFSA, along with your friends, families and co-workers to support H.R. 1695. The purpose of HR 1695 is to amend title 10, United States Code, to reduce the minimum age for receipt of military retired pay for non-regular service from 60 to 55. The bill is sponsored by Honorable Frank A. LoBiondo, Representative from New Jersey, and the Honorable Gabrielle Giffords, Representative from Arizona. There are no additional sponsors as of this writing.
AFSA is strongly working this piece of legislation on Capitol Hill and across the organization because we want to see the retirement age of the guard and reserve members reduced to age 55. However, we cannot do this alone and we strongly need your support. Our call to action on this piece of legislation is a prime example of our unity and the significance of the support and sacrifices our guard and reserves have made to the Total Air Force. We strongly urge you to write your elected official. If you don’t want to send the letter, then send an e-mail, telephone, or visit your elected official and tell them you want them to support H.R. 1695. Together we can make this happen!
